Double dragon death

I'm sooo close.....

There's no way in heck I'm going to get past these dragons. I've got a lvl14 cleric with a summoned huge elemental and Tomi. I ran past them while my "helpers" made the ultimate sacrifice, but the doors say I have to have a key, which tells me I have to kill the dragons.

Since my party would struggle to squeeze past 1 dragon, does this mean I'm totally, painfully, stuck?

At the end (or so I assume)...

You enter the source stone and kill off a handful of Old Ones. At the end of those caves, you kill a mini-boss and some Old Ones that are guarding a portal. Step thru the portal and you make the acquaintence of a "corrupted copper dragon" and a "corrupted silver dragon". Behind them are a series of 3 doors. The first one says it requires a key, which, as best as I can tell, will be dropped by a dead dragon. Unfortunately, I'm having a little trouble making the dragons dead.

This still isn't ringing any bells. Which chapter? And what are the dragon names?

Chapter 4, and the dragons don't have specific names- just what I mentioned above.

Oh yeah. Them.

Hate to tell ya this, but you have to kill them. This was one of those, whack whack whack, recall, heal, grab sidekick, do again ad nauseum. I think this fight took me about an hour and a half once I figured out that I couldn't possibly beat them. As a cleric, your best bet is to use your healing spells on your sidekick (can you say barbarian? Grimgnaw might be useful too...) until he gets killed then hightail it out of there and repeat.

EDIT: Oh, and remember to save whenever you recall out.

Go for the copper first as he was easier to kill.

BTW, once you do kill them, you get that personal, "I Am God" feeling to compensate for the "I Hate Bioware" emotions you'd been dealing with.

Luck to ya!

Thanks Brandi.

Had a weird thing happen. I had cast a blade barrier under one dragon before I recalled everyone out. When I went back, he was dead. Only thing I can figure is that the game screwed up.

I'm to the FINAL battle and getting trounced, but I'll figure it out. For now, I'm listening to the Wings game, so maybe I'll try again tonight.

These game was maybe one of the hardest games I have ever played. It only took about 2 day 3 hours 45 min and 37 seconds to beat the whole game.

51 hours sounds right. Unless you took time off to sleep. I didn't.

I never did finish the original campaign. I got side tracked by Wiz 8 and then Morrowind.

Should I go back and finish it?

Not really. It was an ok story for a CRPG but SHadows and Hordes are better stories with enhanced features.

It's like going back to play Wiz 1 after your first exposure being Wiz 8. It's still fun if you take it for what it is... but you could easily find yourself missing the extra features (such as, oh, graphics and story).

As for the double dragons of death... odd. They didn't even slow my review character down. As a level 18 wizard she simply took them in stride and blew them to pieces on her way to the other side of the room...

I was just level 14 when I hit that part. My cleric was getting trounced. I never did figure out why I ended up so far behind on XP. I certainly made every effort to get and complete every quest in the entire game.

I'm there now and same problem, but I am fighter with Linu as henchy. She dies if you sneeze on her. I would have gotten someone else for the end if I knew they were going to be gone in last part. Oh well. I hope I don't have to sell the house to keep going back and forth. I am too tired to walk the whole way, so I will see if I can make it past the dragons before I have to sell my shoes.
