There are a couple of things that might be going on here ... the Jedi in this story appear to have lost their vitality, their drive, their spunk. As I mentioned above, the LS ending has the hero/heroine as the founder of new revitalized Jedi order.
Also, they are busy cutting your hero/ine off from the force when she strikes ... it could be that their defences all have to be down to perform such a tough act.
Anyway the combination of the two factors is added to by Kriea's very strong emotions ... and her obvious strength in the force ... and the result is a clean sweep of the remnents of the old Jedi order. Swept away like chaff. *poof* A fitting end, if you ask me (except for the old guy from Nar Shadaa - he deserved better).
