get a pick lock
when you've got a pick lock you can start opening those chests
goto a chest, kneel down, then move the left arrow or right arrow key, if he says sounds good keep doing it, its a combination sort of thing so if you don't get it right the first time go the other way eg
left * picklock brakes *
right, right * picklock brakes *
right, left, left * it opens *
sometimes the combination can be small or large depending on the size of the chest and its contents. If you don't want those picklocks braking upgrade your picklocking skills with fingers in the old camp and wedge in the new camp

chest that don't have lock are easi, just use ctrl+ forward to select the chest and when you are kneeld in frond of the cheast, use forward again.
You can save before trying to lockpick a chest, find the right combo(left and right)then load the game again. Then you wont lose any lockpicks.
Most chest takes 4 combo, there are some with 3 or 6.
