We may as well start off a gambling ring in here to see who calls the release month right. At least then when we actually get the game, we can make a profit, that way it seems we didnt waste all our time complaining about how long it took to come out

Is it October realy the release date for Gothic II or is it a rumor? Because if it was the release date it would say it in Gothic II official homepage, and in the Atari homepage too right???

For some reason i have June 13th in my head for the release date,, either someone has told me this or i have seen it on a website somewhere..
Gorath, could you please help me out.. i cant find the RPGdot Shadows forum anywhere??? |

From the given release dates, even thought they are not official, it appears that the North American distribution date is sometime in October. If this were true then it would place the said date as the last in line. For the sake of discussion let us consider this date. Why would Atari want to do this, why would they want to release it in the U.S. so late. Is it that Gothic has a greater presence in Europe, and that few know of it in the U.S.? Is Atari pushing a game in the U.S. that they are not in Europe, so therefore they do not have the proper power to move Gothic 2 here as well? Are they waiting for the Expansion pack? I am not complaining I already know that it will not bring the game here any sooner and will instead most likely irritate others. I am just wondering... |

I would be surprised if this is the way it works out. While I appreciate that Atari Australia has confirmed June/July (IIRC), I would be surprised if we received the game before the US. Infogrames/Atari have not released any other games here before the US that I can recall and I can't imagine why they would start with G2. Whether this means the US will receive it well before Oct or the Australian date is simply wrong (or I'm wrong) I can only guess.
In addition, whereas Amazon UK lists G2 with Atari as the supplier I can only find one Australian vendor listing G2 and they have the old Jowood supplier listed so it's an old and inaccurate entry. If Atari were planning to have it here so soon I would have expected it to be listed on at least a few webstores.
Still, I'm only speculating. |

Atari Nordic answered my mail and said if everything's working fine, the game will be out June 13th in Sweden.

is it possible to see gothic 2 released in Europe before north america?
I think the release date will really be june 13th for Europe and the us version will come few weeks after... |
