The only thing I really don't like is the action oriented mini games. I can't get to Dantooine because I can't wipe out the fighters attacking the ship. I'm totally hopeless at anything requiring speed and reflexes. I'll have to get my son to play that part of the game for me. BAD decision Bioware to put in choke points some people can't handle; we're not all young teenagers!! _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Here's a tip for you. When the fighters first start attacking you, quickly fire off some quick shots. As they are all heading towards you atm, chances are you will be able to get a number of them. After that, see your radar for the red spots. Turn in their direction and when they come towards you, quickly target them. I had some troubles with them at first too but I managed to clear them but firing at them quickly in the beginning. |

Im stuck in the same place corwin.
Its not that its that difficult actually. ots that failure forces you to watch a lenghty cinematic and loading screens.
So when I lose I just feel like saying screw it. I actually sort of like the freelancer type game, but it is an area of design flaw. |

Tips:
1) Firing your weapon in front the direction the enemy ships are flying to.
2) Don't shoot when they're too far away; the best chance is when they're attacking and after that (flying toward/away from you).
3) Try to focus/full alert; gauging where they will coming from (direction from 3D sound); try quick response; good coordination between your eyes (sight) and hands (mouse).
The third one is rather difficult if you're not experienced first person shooters. It'll be easy if you can turn yourself into "FPS mode" while playing it. If you didn't focus they'll quickly blown you away (the laser takes away a lot of health points). I got blown apart once during the mini-game when i didn't pay attention enough - one hand on my mouse and one leg on computer table, laying back in my chair, saying "Meh, here we go again, this won't be hard." _________________

Do you know that a click with your mouse enables you to skip cinematics? This does not apply to those with unspoken dialogue unfortunately but it will let you skip the bombardment of the city etc bit. |

I finished the game before work this morning. Realy good, I cant wait to play it again.
The mini-game with the turrent was annoying. I got most of the fighters at a distence by shooting in bursts of three in leads head of them. Two hits destroy them, and sadly you will have to do this again later.

Yepp I agree. That turret mini-game is nothing but an annoyance. Bioware should never ever have put such a chokepoint. And they compound their error imo by putting lengthy dialogue and cinematic screen before and after that, forcing people to watch them again and again. I can say that I get heartily sick of those scenes. |

While the tips are helpful, as a person who detests FPS games I have major problems with the design decisions. I rarely see the enemy ships before they're past me. How can I aim at them. I just blast away and hope to get lucky. I'm hopeless at space shooters which is why I don't play them; I have very slow reaction speed. That's why I love Turn Based games. Having to sit through all those conversation cut scenes only made it worse. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Yep me too! Thats one of the reasons why I don't want to play any game that has FPS elements in them and/or arcade style games where you have to have good reflexes. Anyways have you pass that part yet? I had a problem with the Dantooine part loading and had to replay it many times. Finally I turned the grass option off and it loaded fine but not before I had played that part more than 10 times. I know how sickening it can be. I just hope that won't be any such things in kotor2. |

Someone needs to pass on these feelings to the devs. I'll have to check out the Bioware forums and see what's happening there. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!
