Graphical problem when I use a skill - please help

When I pick a skill to use and then right-click to use the skill (doesn't seem to matter which skill), after the skill does its thing, the normal display at the bottom of the screen goes away and is replaced by three very, very think colored lines at the very bottom of the screen. Nothing I do seems to be able to get the normal display back until I dump out of the game and start up again - then the normal bottom screen display returns (until I use a skill again). Please help if you can.

I had this problem. Do not right click on the button screen or "plate". Generally right-clicking on any plate will make it disappear, example: right-clicking on the inventory or stats plate will make it disappear. This is the same thing. When you use a skill make sure you right click somewhere else on the screen.

Btw, clicking in the area the plate was should bring it back. I can't remember if you have to click on the lines or in the general area, it's been a while since I did this.

I understand what you are talking about but I am not doing that. I right-click outside any box or text area. The skill works correctly when I do this - it is more or less after the skill does its thing that the bottom primary display goes to three thin colored lines.

Hrmmm... Then I have no idea what's wrong. This problem only happened to me when I right-clicked directly on that plate. Do you have the latest patch installed? Did you change any of the commands around? Did you choose a weird set-up when you installed the game? I've choose Direct3D, 1024x768 resolution, and checked Smoothness. This works well for me.
Scrapping the bottom of the barrell here.

You might also want to contact Larian Studios.

Val - thank you. I was unaware there was a patch. I found it, installed it and that appears to have solved my problem. Now I can play the game AND use my skills .
