Typical hardcore gamer behaviour. The hardcore gamer per se is very conservative when it comes to his favourite game. "Make everything bigger and better, be innovative - but donīt change anything!"
Listening too much to your fan base is a safe route to commercial death because you scare the casual gamers away. Imagine how many people more would have bought TNotR without the talk of it being "difficult".
I bet most people at PB donīt give a shit about what the rest of the world thinks about certain features, and thatīs a good thing. Public talk will of course be different. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Perhaps, but completely ignoring the fans is also bad - look at Deus Ex: Invisible War. |

I don't get this. I've heared a lot of fans on the WoG worrying about all kinds of things instead of being happy.
Doesn't that question indicate so??

You're unbelievable. You only have three pages of information about the game and yet you already fear to get an ordinary game. Just trust us that we will keep our style.
They are actually saying that we should be patient and that we shouldn't worry, as they are keeping their style, e.i. Gothic series style ...
@Gorath: Yes, i agree. _________________

Yes, this game was a failure because Ion Storm / Eidos alienated their fan base and these fans didnīt tell the rest of the world how great the game is.
Of course the developers have to find a compromise. If they need to sell 250k to reach the break even they have to be attractive to the casual gamer and make sure their fans still buy it. If they only sell to their fans they go out of business soon. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

You don't understand me correctly, X. What I tried to say was that I didn't get the reaction of those hardcore fans on WoG. I understand the question, but I fail to understand why many fans worry about certain things and changes. That's what I meant.
@Gorath: That means that G3 will see daylight no matter what, right?

Yeah. The problem of most Guys in WoG is, that they are idiots and spammer and the others are "I want in G3 to have children and have a wife and make a house, a farm, a dog and a monkey on my head" ... yeah the WoG community is sometimes a strange place but its ok. Some Users have a brain ( incredible but true!). Yeah some always only say "Alles wird gut" (everything will be good!)... and im one of this person. I think the PBs know what they are doing. They are the Developer of the game and it seems so, that JoWood isnt so bad as we thought
In Fact we dont have many Informations now. We dont know much about the game so we shouldnt worry yet and wait a little bit. We didnt see any Human and now or the Hero.. we didnt see a Village or a City.. Man we only have 3 screenshots, so now isnt the Time to worry, no now is the time to look forward to the game and enjoy the new Screens and Informations. _________________ Currently Playing: GuildWars / Character: Less Isgaroth Necromancer|Elementalist

Counting down to the E3 (18-20th of May). That will probably give a lot more info than just 3 screens. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

Oh yeah! I think all of us fans are anxiously waiting for E3 and all the great stuff it has in store. Gothic 3 and much much more, though G3 is my number one target for interest, of course _________________ one two tree |

I don't know what it means, but I do know what it is
It's a very large exposium for soft- and hardware. Every respecting publisher has a stand where it present their most promising games.
Large developers have a stand there too, consoles etc. It's the place to be when it comes to new developments in the gaming circuit.
