Snaf's Quest - How to do it?

I got the 3 meatbugs and 5 hell mushrooms but Snaf doesn't say anything to me. The only dialogue option is 'End' when I talk to him. I've tried dropping the ingredients into the cauldron but it doesn't work.

Is this a bug or am I just stupid to figure out how to do the quest?

What chapter are you in? I think you must be in chapter 1 to do that quest. You can try to reset Snaf by entering marvin mode.

You can complete the mission in later chapters. I did it in chapter 3. It took me a while to figure out you had to kill them. I thought you could just pick them up.

How do you kill those meatbugs?

My guy must have rocks for brains, but he just keeps swinging over them. Do I have to shoot them with a bow or what?

I found that using a club works well. They can be tricky to hit. You can also use a bow to kill them.

You don't have to use a weapon: look down when you're close to the meatbugs and just punch them to death with your hands.

I thought we were talking about killing meatbugs and doing the quest. Not killing Snaf.

Why do you ladies/gentlemen intend to kill Snaf? He provides you meatbug ragout everyday! Don't be evil!
