Dungeon Siege: LoA - Review @ Gigex

One of the lowest review scores for Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna has been handed out by Gigex with their 3-paragraph opinion handing down a score of 2/5:
This seems like a last minute idea for an expansion to remind people of the Dungeon Siege franchise before Dungeon Siege II release date rolls around. But, the $29.99US MSRP seems somewhat reasonable, unless you object to spending that kind of money on different versions of a two year old game. People who really loved the original and want to play for nostalgia's sake might be interested, and new players might want to become familiar with the original before the sequel releases. For everyone else, this is too little, and way, way too late.

It took the four months to write this lame excuse for a review? This is not a carefull evuation of the game; just a handfull of uncontrolled thoughts by a NWN fan who doensnt know anything about how to judge a graphics engine.

personally i love DS and DS:LoA, as well as NWN, different engines, both do wonderfull things and both could learn from each other.

DS could learn from NWN's depth while NWN could learn from DS's graphics. Both have very nice mechanics, but both would be much better if they incorporated each other's ideas.

In any case, its just a review, just another opinion, has no more merit than anyone else's. And quite frankly, a review this late is about usefull/meaningfull as a fart.

Maybe gigex is unhappy that they coudln't squeeze some more money out of MS for hosting their demo downloads?

My primary disappointment with LoA was that there was no way to just buy the expansion. The price is great for those new to the franchise, but I'm not paying it to get an extra copy of the original.

However, I am looking forward to some solid DS2 info!
