Yay the demo should be out today...
Umm depending on how this poll goes I'm thinking we might want a Freedom Force Board here to discuss the demo and the game since it'll be here in a week or two...
Oh yeah check out this cool SuperHero/Villian generator its really cool

I've been keeping up on the news and screenshots/movies of the game, just because it is a very interesting concept-- but I have not decided whether I will buy it or not.
I will definately be playing the demo.
Hopefully it won't convince me to buy the game, since I'm shelling out the dough for Dungeon Seige soon, and I can't afford even that, really. |

I'm definitely going to play the demo, hopefully there will be enough sites hosting the file so people can get it before the actualy game comes out...
I'm in the same boat with Vaticide, I just bought Wizardry 8, and I'll be one of the first in line to get Dungeon Siege, I'd also like to play Might and Magic IX. That doesn't leave a lot of cash laying around for this one.
BTW, anyone check out that new 6 minute video showing the early build of Morrowind? Oh man, does that look like a NICE game...

Ok, I've played the demo. This game is actually pretty fun. I think it would take me some time to get used to the control system. The demo is short, so I didn't really get a feel for how RPG oriented the game is. At the early levels it is reminiscent of a arcade style action game where you have a super hero and you go about K.O.-ing thugs. I imagine you can eventually start to buff up your team and develop them. Will I buy it now? If I find some money laying around on the street, maybe. I would certainly consider it.

I just checked out the demo myself... Wow the graphics look great and it played at 1600x1200 no problems. I still gotta figure out the controls some more so I can actually complete the second mission. The game seems like it might be more strategy than rpg but its still cool. It makes me wish someone would create a single player single char RPG game like Morrowind but with Super Heroes in a comic book world... that would be so awesome. |

Yeah, great idea there.

I totally agree, and I think that would be the best use for all the cell-shading 3D game technology you are seeing. Comic-style graphics (like in Jet Grind Radio) with actual super-heros. |

I couldn't get my 'hulk-like' mesh and skin to animate properly. He'd run around and punch inanimate objects into orbit just fine... but couldn't attack other character meshes.
I'm sure that will be fixed as soon as the proper meshes are released with the game instead of me having to do a lot of creative directory restructuring.
What a blast, though. It's a strategy game first, certainly... but there is character development and other RPG elements. Levels give you character points so you can buy new powers or train old ones.

Probably not, comic book superheros (forgive me Hulk) aren't really my thing. Guys in tights make me think of ballet dancers, not heros.

The Hulk didn't wear tights, he wore ripped pants.

I will not being playing the game. I watched about 10 seconds of the trailer and that was enough for me. True heroes, such as myself, don't fit into games like that
