No worries. Those 5 people you killed off were completely useless anyways... good riddance to the lot of them!

i put Sarah in jail, and after that... i joined the militia,
but in chapter2 (yes... not 3)
I talked to Canthar, and i also must pay 500gp... is this a bug or something?

Beats me whether it's a bug, but it depends what Canthar is telling to you. If he still tells that you must pay 500g to him for putting him in jail, and you didn't put him into the jail, then that's a bug most probably. Or, maybe he just tries to blackmail cash from you, because you're a former convict.

In any case, he's a slime and deserves to be killed in some dark corner and then be left in a gutter, to feed the worms..

And yes, I know that these chars are somewhat useless, whom my skeletons killed. Simply I planned to kill only Canthar (Rengaru was just in a bad place at a wrong time, heh), but as you can see, things went tad... out of control and the skeletons killed the whole jail off, heh heh. Ah well, what can I say other then "oops".

EDIT: By the way, speaking of Canthar more: once I played the game through again with imported char and went down the path from Xardas. Sure enough Canthar was there. So, without even speaking a single word, I stepped next to him and smacked him hard across his slimy skull and then left. I thought I killed him, but when I later came back, I saw him sitting again! I totally forgot that you can knock NPC's down without killing. Doh! I walked to Canthar and he saw me and said "It was a stupid thing of you to attack me, now pay me 100 gold or I will tell about this to guard!". I said (to myself) that this was really stupid of you not to run when you could, and these are your last words, ever. Smacked him down again and this time made sure that he wont get up anymore. Of course, that didn't stop his corpse appear everywhere in the city all the time, but at least the sucker was out and Sarah was safe.

I have another thing with canthar.............
When i started the game i didnt talk to him untill i bought the farmer clothes, and when i talked to him he didnt say anything about the pass.
Then in town he didnt ask me to frame sarah and now he sits in his place and sarah is in her place............... a weird thing indeed.

Yes, he will not ask you about it if you speak to him at the start while wearing something, i.e. you buy farmer clothes and wear them and then speak with him. Or when you import your char and have some armor on. His talk seems to be triggered only when he sees you in your 'convict' clothes.

You can speak to him and he may speak then to you about it, although in some rare cases he wont mention it at all.

The thing is that i am in chapter 3 and canthar is sitting where he sits in chapter one and sarah is in her place, and no 500 to lose, so if you think of that it is worth buying the farmer clothes before you try to do the quest for lobarts wife (a pan for hilda) and then you wont lose 500 gold.

Wow, people seem to really care about some silly merchant(s) which has absolutely nothing to do with the main plot of the game!

The whole Canthar/Sarah thing went weird for me as well. I put Sarah in jail (well within the time limit), in an attempt to not piss off Canthar. And I didn't tell anyone about it.

The next day, I visited her in jail, and she yelled at me through the bars.

I went back a week later... and she was DEAD! And I didn't do it!

So, I did what any good thief would do: I opened the cell and looted her body. The next thing I know, Canthar's ratted me out and the merchants are all mad at me. He gave me the 'this is what happens when you mess with me" speech, and ran off with my 500 gold.

These days, Sarah's body is gone. You would've thought that Canthar would be pleased with how things turned out, but nooooooo...

He is so getting stabbed in a dark alley.

I had gotten to this point in the game and was wondering what to do. I didn't like Canthar eirhter, and wanted to save Sarah. I did a search and found this thread. After reading that you could do away with Canthar, and Sarah would stick around, I decided to try it. I haven't gotten much past it to find out future consequences, but I seem to have gotten away with it.

I talked to Canthar and agreed to his proposition. I then followed him up to bed (I'd caught him just before he went). When he went to bed I killed him, though it took a few tries to do it "right". I'm actually low enough level that he would get up and beat the crap out of me a couple of times (I'd dropped my coins so he wouldn't take them), but wouldn't kill me. I just picked up a weapon and tried again until I finally won. At this point I'd loot him, and then kill him. Through a couple of attempts I'd found he had different stuff on him, sometimes very little, sometimes a lot. So on my last run through, just before beating him, I picked up my money and paid the $100 he wanted to "make up" and then asked to "see his goods", which he showed me, and he went back to bed. I beat him up and there it all was (no Ship Axe but still some good stuff at my level), including even more money. So I took it all, and killed him. The whole time there were a half dozen other merchants laying asleep in the Inn, and didn't seem to care (never stirred). I went to "bed".

Now things get a little silly. The next morning I get up and look around, the Inn is empty. The merchants are in their stalls, no guards are after me. There is Canthar's dead body on the street. I then go to Andre, and report Canthar, as the option is still open. I get my Experience points, and 100 coins. Immediately his dead body is moved to the Jail cell. I went to Sarah, told her, got the weapon, and points. Save point. Thats how I left it, he shouldn't be any more trouble to me, but I expect to see his dead body again.
