@bombadill and GokYabguHan:
Read the source of this newsbit at WoG and you will see that Gorath is right here:
The current edition 12/05 of the German magazine PC Games Hardware is listing the hardware requirements for Gothic 3.
The article states that according to some members of the Piranha Bytes you need at least:
Athlon 64 3000+/P4 2,8 GHz,
1 GB RAM,
Geforce 6800 GT/Radeon X800 Pro
To enjoy Gothic 3 with all details, 4xFSAA and 8:1 AF, a Geforce 7800 GT/GTX is needed. Probably the new Ati Radeon X1000er-series will fulfill the requirements, too.
Update: PiranhaByte has clarified that the above hardware requirements are only needed to get very good graphics. They are not the minimal requirements. The game will run with a GeForce 3, less RAM and a slower processor. _________________ Moderator and Council Magician of the RPGDot Shadows

Thank God for that. I literally JUST ordered a 2.8Ghz hyper-threading processor (the max my motherboard will take) for $180, and an ATI All-In-Wonder X800XT video card for $280 (the most I could possibly afford), just so I had some hope of running Oblivion and Gothic 3.
Phew!
I would still like to know what to expect with Oblivion's sytem requirements. It looks incredible - and incredibly system-intensive. _________________ "We'll go back in time to that mystic land
