I have gotten a good idea of how I want to start the game.
Here is my first attempt

Race: Nord
Class: Custom (but he's the fighter type)
Birthsign: The Atronarch (=chance to absorb magic)

Major skills: Long Blade, Block, Heavy Armor, Alchemy, Enchant.
Minor skills: Armorer, Marksman, Security, Restoration, Acrobatics or Athletics.

Longblades (all kind of swords) is his specialized weapon choice.
Block - speaks for itself.
Heavy armor - Nothing but the best armor for him. He's strong enough to wear it too.
Alchemy - a very versatily and usefull skill. Make all kind of potions (waterbreathing, invisibility, healing, etc).
Enchant - make your weapon stronger.

Armorer - He can repair and maintain his own weapons and armor.
Marksman - this is basicly for pulling the enemy towards you or to do some minor first damage from afar.
Security - ability to pick locks. Always usefull to have.
Restoration - Heal yourself but can also be used to boost abilties like strength, endurance etc.
Acrobatics or Athletics - not sure on what to take here
Acrobatics is good for high jumping/take less damage when falling and Athletics makes you run and swim faster.

This will probably be my first character to try out Morrowind

I think you'll need athletics for that heavy armour.

As a note, I have heard many people saying that a warrior like this may want an unarmoured skill, so that you don't have to 'live' in your armour.

Also, the Atronarch does not regenerate magicka. I think it's a pretty good combination.

Custom Class: Soul Thief
Race: Kajiitt

Major:
Security
Sneak
Illusion
Short Blade
Acrobatics

Minor:

Athletics
Mercantile
Light Armor
Mysticism
Enchant

Thief type char with a penchant for sneaking up while wrapped in illusion backstabing his victims, occasionally using his Mysticism skill to trap their souls in gems which he then uses to enchant items and sell to customers at exorbiant prices along with the other ill gotten gains he has aquired along the way....

I haven't decided on name or birthsign yet...

Perhaps the sign that can make him invisible for up to a minute.

Sauron I thought about that but I think it would end up being redundant with the the illusion as a major skill. I'm holding off on the birthsign until I get the game and can see the exact numerical benifits of each birthsign... Another thought after seeing the preview movie is to drop a one of the skills I've selected and replace it with Marksman so I can properly use the cool bows, crossbows, darts and the throwing stars in the game... The only thing is I don't know what skill I could part with from my current design..

Incindium,

Looking at your thief template I thought of two possible birthsigns.

The Ritual: you heal faster and can turn undead.

The Steed: you move faster.

By the way, if I would have to change the birthsign for my fighter I would most likely go with the Ritual.
Faster healing and the ability to turn undead are good to have for any class me thinks

And here is my attempt to make a mage

Race: High Elf or Breton
Class: Mage (customized)
Birthsigh: The Mage

Major: Destruction(Will), Alteration(Will), Restoration(Will), Mysticism(Will), Conjuration(Intel).
Minor: Enchant(Intel), Illusion(Pers), Athletics(speed), Unarmored(speed), Shortblade(speed).

His main attribute is Willpower. Hence the 4 magic schools who have that as their governing attribute.
After that it’s Intelligence for the other 2 magicschools and speed for the 3 remaining minor skills.

His Magic should be able to do everthing needed. E.g. Kill, Heal, Summon, Charm, Buff stats, teleport, walk on water etc. etc.
When all magic fails he could run away very fast using the Athletics skill Or just use it to run/swim faster with normal travel.
The Unarmored skill for when the monsters are up close and personal and you need to evade or absorb their attacks– which WILL happen I’m sure.
Shortblade is there to finish them off if needed after he has used his powerfull magic first ofcourse. He won’t be the greatest daggerfighter out there but he should be able to do *some* damage at least.

It will be fun to try this mage out and see how he compares to my fighter

Last but not least, here's my thief:

Race: Khajiit
Class: Thief (customized)
Birthsign: The Lover (even more agility and paralyze others with a kiss)

Major: Short Blade(speed), Sneak(Agil), Block(Agil), Marksman(Agil), Security(Intel).
Minor: Light Armor(Agil), Alchemy(Intel), Enchant(Intel), Acrobatic(Strength), Armorer(Strength).

A typical thief who has some skill in making nasty potions and can enchant his own weapon as well as repair it.
I wonder if Alchemy could make poisons that you can apply to your blade...would be cool

Custom Class: Ranger
Race: Elf (Wood or Dark)

Main Attributes: AGILITY, Intelligence, Strength

Major Skills: Marksman (Ag), Security (INT), Sneak (Ag), Long Blade (STR), Armorer (STR)

Minor: Enchant (INT), Alchemy (INT), Light Armor (AG), Acrobatics (STR), [another one, not sure yet ]

Birthsign: Thief or Atronach or Shadow

It's an Elven Ranger Type with a bow as primary weapon, well-suited for survival in nature (armorer, enchant, alchemy) or darker town parts...

It's very similiar to Snoekie's Thief, but I prefer the Long Blade (2-handed like Dai-Katana)instead of Short Blade. The Block Skill would be nice, but I decided against it: A Ranger with tower shield isn't quite stylish . Best race would be the Wood Elves for even better marksmanship, but I don't like these pointed-eared good guys, so I tend to take a Dark Elf (with better resistencies).

Do you have propositions for a suitable birthsign and the last skill?

CU, Akena.

Class: ArcaneMage
Race: High elf
Birthsign: the mage

Primary skills: Mysticism, Enchant, Alchemy
M Skls: Conjuration, Alteration,Restoration
m Skis: Destruction, Illusion, Mercantile, Unarmored, Speechcraft.

Reading and traveling in search of lore is this characters prime goal in life. He isn't really evil but will sacrifice other peoples lives if it means discovering new spells, magical patterns or gaining insight. In constant search for knowledge, the arcane mage is only loyal to two things: himself, and his studies.

Akena I'd suggest athletics as one of your characters skills.

Akena,

For my thief I took the lovers birthsign.
It gives us thiefs even more of our main attribute Agility and a very cool ability to paralyze people with a kiss.
I'll be using that one if I'm in a tight spot, need to get out, and all else fails.

Ofcourse the birthsign of The Thief is nice to have too. Making you harder to hit.

If you really don't like the above two you can always take The Ritual.
Faster healing is nice for every class to have. And turning the undead is a nice bonus with that

Thx 4 the suggestions!

The Lover sounds good. More agility is of course better and paralysing enemies in close combat may be useful. Do you remember the "adrenaline rush" in Daggerfall? Gave you a last chance to escape by pushing up your attributes; I liked it very much and this paralysing-thing sounds similiar.

I thought about athletics too, but it requires speed as primary attribute and I already need three attributes above average. But I will give it a second thought because there are no mounts in Morrowind and running faster may be extremely useful.

CU, Akena.
