I didn't have it either and presumed it'd gone back to him ~ but then I looked in the water (just out of curiosity) after I'd used the Stone of Recall and there it was  . I had to go back to Beggars Nest for something else and on the way stopped in at Jermain's and he mentioned it when I clickedon him to talk. He took it then - or rather he suggested I keep it coz he couldn't pay me. Anyway, quest completed ~ whew
