stuck in crypt

I am at level 5. second level from the crypt but I can't go on. I can't get the portcullis close to the body of the dead zombiehunter who has the paper. I read the walkthrough and says I have to be in room 7 to switch the switches but I can't get in

You have to use lockpicking to get in. If your skills are not high enough, cast bless first and then try. It boosts your skills. But to get the gate at point 36 open, you have to push the two buttons on the wall near 12 where the levers are. Have to move fast when you push them as it closes up again. This is based on your saying you are on level 5. I don't think there are any switches in room seven on level 5. If you mean room 8, the lever is for it is out in the center cross hall on the floor at N/E side. Hope this confusion helps.

mm schoudln't had to try to make a warrior but more a fighter/mage
