I highly trust Home of the Underdogs to be very careful about the status of games so I don't see this as advocating piracy ... Please, please correct me if I have made an error in my judgement here!! Anyway, for those of you that are interested Click me for link.

I highly recommend this game ... now I've not tried to play it in 10 years or so, but my memories of this game are that it is excellent.

Home of the Underdogs is such a good site and I've been waiting. Thanks for the heads up.

Hey there Lintra, thanks for the info'

Yes!, i think i may be tempted to try it again, i bought this game back when (1992)? and it crashed often but now that some major bugs have been addressed it could be just what i seek.
There was a strategy guide available (i never use them).
I was one of those that loved the dos op/sys', and just out of sheer curiosity and to be back in that original authentic world, i still have a junk box of old pc-parts in the attic, and upon checking, have found enough parts to build a dos pc-machine, i still have dos 6.2 on floppies, even win-95 on floppies, i am beginning to look forward to this.
This game with it's german town history had much potential for "continuation" but it never happened, the plan/idea of english towns and history would have been great, the character generation system was absorbing but thats what drags you into the game.
There are potentially hundreds of playing hours within this game.
Will report on my findings.

Thanks for the info Lintra. Downloaded the game and the manual last night. The manual is 4MB, so it'll take awhile if you're on dialup. You do have Adobe Acrobat, right?

Yeah, I finally got it ... though not before being temporarily baned as a 'inadverented leech' or some such

Apparently, when the window trying to retrieve the manual locked up it left me as actively accessing the file, so when I tried again a little while later it tagged me as trying for mutiple downloads. *grrrrr*

But all is well now, and I have a hobby for Xmas!!
