Problems with installation

The installation works fine until it says "insert installation cd1", so I do this. The source path is set to E: which is my cd-drive. Then I click okay, but nothing happen, it just beeps. I am sure it is the right cd, and that the drive is correct. What could cause this problem?

The CDs are mislabeled. Try another combination or search this forum for the solution.

I know that the cd's are mislabelled, I have tried all cd's, and I got the same error on all of them. However, I managed to get past that error by going into regedit, removing all trace of Gothic 2, restarting, then installing again.

Now I have another problem though, I get an I/O error when trying to install speech2.vdf on Install CD 2.

I suggest you also post this on the official boards at www.jowood.com. They have a copy protection specialist over their who has some experience with this kind of stuff. All I (and probably we) could tell you is the usual 'update your driver, close all programs' blabla.
