Backstabbing....

will this be implemented? I'd love to hide in the shadows and just poke someone with my stiletto. Or sniping from the shadows.....I'd love to hide and fill em with pointy sticks....hehe

Huh? that doesn't sound like the normal attitude of the GuybrushThreepwood I know. Something must have happended to him out on that Island..

Anyway, as far as I know, the way of the thief is far more implemented, and in consequence of this, I would suppose that backstabbing is possible.. If there will be certain levels of backstabbing, i don't know, but that would be cool.. Although, since I'm a fair man, I prefer a fair fight

But I guess it won't work on someone who's many levels higher than you and with thick armor. Probably your stab won't even penetrate his armor.

And if your stab backfires, the guy does a move on you and kills you?

Anyway... sniping at a strong character probably means he's gonna come running your direction and give you a quick one two before you hear your own body hit the ground.

Backstabbing is cool. It has always been one of my favorite skills. And we are we all considering attacking high level characters? Think about the weak or normal ones. I would surely love the watch of a "one-hit kill", although that might not be a very honorable way.

Backstabbing ? I dont know it sounds nice, but I dont think that
it will be possible to kill someone with just one dagger attack
- it would be too easy.... hm but it could be like this:
backstabbing is possible when your weapon damage is higher than
the enemies defense and it counts as a critical attack.... but then again backstabbing would be too rare.

But I hope that Gothic 2 will have a much better sneaking system than Gothic - when between you and somebody there is a barrier [trees or wall]
he cant see you, and when walking on some noisy materials [like wood]
you cant sneak. In Gothic I sneaked into someones home and a guy who was behind a barrier of two homes catched me red handed....

Hey... why not? You can start backstabbing after you've trained level 5 sneaking. And armor doesn't matter cos' you just sneak up and slit their throats.

What if their armors include neck protection?

Eh...Guybrush Threepwood got tired of being beaten in sword fights and humiliated so he took up the art of backstabbing.

How about backstabbing in the sense of running away from a guy, letting him get close to you, then stabbing your sword back through him? It's effective in Star Wars games.
