I almost died laughing

After completing the game as a neutral good party I figured I had to try a shot as an evil party, so put together a neutral evil party and almost died laughing at the opening quote (parapharasing here), "So you head off to Homlet to find the pitiful priest and his flamable church".

I loved it!

The chaotic evil one is fun too.

Which avatar, yours or Val's?

@Val - Yes it can be! I am having a blast ... much more fun than I thought I would.

Mine, of course. Val's is deceptively angelic with a promising and hopeful title while mine is blatant. Of course anyone who watches TV or movies knows that this means that Val is obviously the more evil because she's the dangerous "Hidden Evil" whereas I'm more the "In Your Face Evil" that superheroes kick around in movies.

What options there are for evil within the game are very fun. I understand Atari hacked out fully 3/4 of the evil options within the game, though. Nonetheless it's the small things that are fun. Such as the opening and ending movies for evil parties.

I'd love to know what they hacked out ... somethings have bothered me, like basically being forced to free the ogre's prisoners in the watch tower. I was really hoping to pump them for info and then kill them. But once I engaged them in conversation my options were limite to "bye" and the good path *snarl*. So now I got's me this here gnome ring. Waddami gonna do wid it. I can't eat it, it isn't magical. Pah! A useless ugly trinket.

For what I've gathered from forums and interviews pretty much the entire second city is what they hacked out. A few more quests for the pirates, a brothel and its subquests (which I seem to recall being in the original module but it's been well over a decade so I might be thinking of another), that sort of thing.

Risen from ashes for my bloody revenge.

Installing the mod from Circle of Eight adds in several things that were axed from the game. Installing it for your evil game will add in more things for you to do.

Back to topic, I tried chaotic evil once, with a pregenerated party and I just LOVED the dialog with the guards by an orc barbarian . Ehh... Burned boars, or what was it...
