NERDS!!! I know a bit of the lotr books and movies, but this is knowledge I never heard off.

No flame felt here. In fact I asked Sauron for extra nerd points since I was able (with out using a reference source) to pull out the name Narya from the depths of my cluttered brain.

Didn't Gandalf have one of the three elven rings? i havent read the trilogy in awhile (about a year, i started again last night) but i remember my dad saying something about Gandalf having one of the three.
