the Ptorch can be combined by a gadgeteer with something I don't remember (giant lens?) to make the searchlight- a "detect secrets" gadget.

Ptorch (Mt Gigas dry caves) plus Magnifying Glass ( Upper Monastery library) equals Searchlight (Detect Secret)

Japan has many games with the Wizardry label for the PSX, PS2 and the various Gameboys. Since I've been here, I've counted about five. I wouldn't mind giving the GBA one a try... it looks very old-schooly.
