Game Crashed at mid-load

OKay, here's my problem: i have played Gothic 2 up until the beggining of chapter 5. Then, one day, after i saved and such, i decided later to play again. But, when i loaded the game, it crashed in mid load, and an error message cam up saying "an assertion has failed". I started a new game, and it was working fine up until about an hour of play, in which the loading mid-way crashed again, with the same error message. I even Re-installed the program, and the same problem persists.

Did you install any software between the time you saved and continued to play?

But the reinstallation succeeded, so this shouldn't be a problem...

Yeah, it did work, but I kept the same save games, but still, after about an hour of in-game playing on a new game, it crashes when you try and load it.

Should I delete everything that has to do with Gothic 2 on my computer and restart my game? Or is there a way to delete what the problem is and continue my game?

This is hard to say. You could copy your old saves to another location and then reinstall the game. If it doesn´t work you can still copy them back.

There´s a saves folder in program files\JoWooD\Gothic 2\ or similar. Just copy the whole folder to another place.
