Cult Caves & Kidnapped Neva

The Cult is supposed to be in or around the caves in the hills to the north of Port Llast ~ but WHERE?????
Neva's been kidnapped by bandits and is held near the standing stones to the entrance to Charwood ~ I can't find them!!! HELP plz
I guess I have to complete these quests before I can get into Luskan, coz the gates won't open.

You have MANY things to do before getting into Luskan.

Let the story come to you. You seem to be trying a little too hard to complete quests one at a time (could be wrong, just basing that on your posts). Generally, follow the main quest and all the side quests will fall into place if you "clear" each zone.

Starting in P.L., clear the two zones to the north, including all the "sub-zones" such as caves. That will handle one part of the main quest as well as several side quests. Then go east. Several zones and sub-zones to clear in that direction. Finally, tackle all the southern zones. By that time, you'll have all three portions of the main quest that you know about covered, and most of the side quests. You can then revisit a few zones to complete the last few side quests before moving on.

side quests

Thanx for that help.
However, I've completed most of the quests, except for locating Zor (the 3rd of the 4 criminals), Neva (kidnapped by bandits) and haven't yet stumbled across the Cult in any caves. The only caves I've not been in are the mines to which I've not got the key - obviously, lol, otherwise I wouldn't still be looking for Zor.
But ok, I'll look in them all again ~ *sigh* At least there's nothing to kill and I can walk about freely with all the caves and zones mapped out.

Goes to show what happens when I assume...

Zor and Deliliah must have similar thoughts, since they both seem to like upstairs rooms. Gotta wonder where Zor got the money to pay for his room. When you take care of Zor's bounty, that annoying locked door in the Mines just might get a little easier to deal with.

Neva is on a hill up by the farm where you took care of a wolf problem. The "poor little boy" turns out to have a mean streak.

There are cultists in all three directions from P.L. They leave journals when you kill them that will satisfy Aribeth and Gend.

starting over

Nope, I'm going to have to start over alright .
I've taken care of Zor and Yesgar, but have hunted high and low for Neva with no luck.
I've not come across any cultists.
The Temple guy won't mention the tooth of Athelor, just keeps on about the black wolf
And I killed Shaldrissa [got a bit carried away with the fight] (oops).
Too much stacked against me I think. But if anyone can see a way out I'd really appreciate it.

For Neva, head south. Make sure you cover all of the west side of each map as you work south. Coulda sworn he was near the wolf, but I promise he's on the west side of a southern map. He attacks you (it's a cultist setup), so you might have already killed the little slime and not realized it.

The northern cultist is DEEP in the orc caves near the inn.
The eastern cultist is in a special area where you find the Spirit of the Forest. You have to follow a very unusual ritual to get into that zone.
The southern cultist is in the castle ALL the way to the south, IIRC.

Killing Shaldrissa will cost you a few XP- no biggie.

Not sure why the temple guy isn't registering the completion of the werewolf quest.

Cultists & Neva

Thanx heaps for those tips. Yes.. I recall 3 or 4 people coming at me around the wolf den - standing stone area, so you're right I've probably killed him already, lol.
Have been thru all the caves at least 3 times. But will have another go at that one. Will also revisit the forest.
I gather that once all the quests are done the gates to Luskan open. Is that correct?

Ohh another question right off this topic but you may know; Did Baldur's Gate 1 come with a manual?? I just bought Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and number 2's manual's as big as the Oxford Dictionary, lol. Just seems odd that one would not have one and the other would
Thanx again.

Mine did (155pgs), but I bought BG1 in it's own box. Since you got the collection, you might have a .pdf manual for BG1 on the CDs.

Cults & things

Thanx for that.
I can't get back into the Castle in Charwood for the other journal. Is it a glitch in my game or was the castle destroyed after the 'trial'?
I bought the two BGs seperately - not as a special set. The guy in the shop was adament that BGI DIDN'T have a manual. I'll phone him again tomorrow and tell him that it DID and he'd better get me one. I'm the kinda person who likes to read the manuals. It's surprising what you can pick up in them lol.
