Game won't start Direct 3D problems

I am running Gothic on a Compac Laptop
750mhz
324 mg ram
Ati Rage Mobility M-1 Video
DirectX 8.1
win2000

After install, icon is on my desktop. When I insert CD the install wizard kicks in and wants to modify my last install (the start menu for game never appears). If I cancel out of wizard and click on the icon, I get a black screen that gives me direct3d errors.

Can't seem to find any other drivers. Any ideas would be helpful. This game really looked interesting.

As an addition to the above posting, I am running win2000 with Service Pack 2.

Try CD #2.
Rage Mobility? I�m not sure this chip is compatible.
