Access Violation when saving

While playing the UK version of the game everthing is running fine but you know there are just those times when you feel like saving.

Problem is I can't save. Everytime I try the game shoots me to the desktop and tells that there is an access violaton when I save. I can get no save files at all.

Any help will be appreciated because I'm really tired of playing the very start of the game over and over again.

Forget I fixed it. Seems that the German demo was conflicting with the full game.
