OK, time to make it a little more taxing I reckon, although this one shouldn't be too hard...

Indeed they were. And as an extra piece of useless trivia, they're all remakes with different titles to the originals. Just for those who don't know all these films:
Vanilla Sky was a remake of Open Your Eyes
Magnificent 7 was a remake of Shichinin no samurai (7 Samurai)
Last Man Standing was a remake of Fistfull Of Dollars, which in turn was a remake of Yojimbo (The Bodyguard)
Just Visiting was a remake of Les Visiteurs
And in every case, the originals are the best. So go see 'em!

Perhaps it's a bit to early, but I ask for a small tip. _________________ Moderator and Council Magician of the RPGDot Shadows

Nothing springs to mind. If it's a single film with 'em all in, I don't think I know it. But maybe it's something more complex... CLUE! |

Ok, here's a small clue. And Val, you were close, but not really.
The roles that link these three happened in the "aughts" (that is, from 2000-present). _________________ --------

Hmm the only connection I can think of is that they have all done musical films in the 2000's based on stage shows
Richard Gere did Chicago
Minnie Driver did Phantom of the Opera
John Leguizamo did Moulin Rouge
Not sure if that's right though _________________ "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true."

That's correct. They all starred in (and sang in) a movie musical. _________________ --------

Cool Pie I got one right - hmm this means no only do I need to come up with a question but I also need to check back for answers so I better not make it to obscure (I'll check back tomorrow)
Ok try this - what connects these fine folks
John Leguizamo
Minnie Driver
Steve Buscemi
Tom Hanks _________________ "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true."

They all played with each other in different movies.
What I mean is: Tom Hanks played once Minne Driver, once with Steve and once with John. And so for each one _________________ Moderator and Council Magician of the RPGDot Shadows

Although that is true Bartacus - it's not the answer that I'm looking for.
The answer is something that connects all four.
I have a clue ready if anybody wants one _________________ "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true."
