Since I’m replaying the BG1 and in the near future I want to try again SoA(with the same character), I remember reading somewhere that these golden pants can be use for some incredible armor. Of course I forgot where I did read that and what were the rest of the components. Any help with that? _________________ Money - An article which may be used as a universal passport to everywhere except heaven, and as a universal provider of everything except happiness. |

I don't think it's the golden pantaloons from BG1 that are part of the armor (since you lose all your items when you start BG2 unless you know how to fake the computer out and NOT... but that's a minor exploit) that you're talking about.
There are silver pantaloons that combine with a few other items in SoA... you can only get them by being an evil bastard. Once you get all the items and go to ToB you can combine them.
I wouldn't call the armor incredible, though. Interesting is a better word for it... _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

I read somewhere that the pantaloons art the one thing it will let you keep if you import from BG1. It also said that if you combined three different pants it would create the Big something, I forget the name, that would give you something like -10 armor. I forget what pants they are or where to get them, the only one I ever found were the golden pantaloons in BG1, but that all three where somewhere within BG + expansion and BG2 + expansion.
@Xen Did you combine two pants or three? |

Val's got it right... yes, I'd forgotten about the pants carrying over. *d'oh!*
You get the Big Suit.
It makes you look like an Iron Golem and gives you a -10 armor class.
It sucks. Being an iron golem means you can't fit through doors, etc. Plus you don't get its magic resistance and such. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

You get more than just -10 AC as I remember - it does give you some other bonuses (such as strength I think). You also get a cool rocket launcher weapon with some strange ammo - I would swear that this was tinker gnome stuff except that it works The weapon is not as good as others you'll have by then but the armour is useful even at that point. _________________ "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears this is true."

Having the armor is cool, but I wouldn't go wearing it it battle or anything. Having armor that good just spoils the challenge, in my opinion. The whole pantaloon thing is just an easter egg that one of the Bioware BG1 programmers thought up (probably while drunk). Good for a laugh, though. |
