Hmm, Confusion afoot... Charms, and the Holy Weapons

Maybe I should RTFM...

But avoiding that, Anyone know what I am not getting about ENCHANTING?
The Funny Orbs... The Enchant Weapon Skill? ( Armour? ) Charm Quality?...

Can I enchant armour? I have the enchant weapon skill maxxed out...
I try to MERGE the orbs to the armour... NADA...
~shrug~

And I have all three holy weapons... or rather the three PRE-Holy Weapons...
Seems I should sacrifice two... Um, Where? Not on the church alters...
And no where else I can find... Tried in the marketplace forge... NADA...
~shrug~

Makes me ill to ask for spoiler help... but I am lost on these two things...
And I don't see any of the other topics asking about it...
~shrug~

I'm sure Val's expert assistance will be along shortly but in the meantime here's my little bit.

The skill is Enchant Weapon, so I don't think you can do armour. The charm quality of the weapon (listed as a stat for each weapon if applicable) and your skill determines the number of charms you can apply.

So..does your item list a charm quality? If not, a charm can't be added.

*Val runs in...*

::pant:: Did I... ::pant:: miss... ::pant:: anything? ::pant::

Okay, to enchant something go ahead and have it equiped. Now, open your equipment screen. I think you need to right-click on the weapon, armor, whatever and another screen will open if it has a charm quality. Now, this screen displays slots that you can stick the charms into. Go ahead and stick one in, but be sure that's what you want because you can't change it. Viola!

To the northeast of the Church you'll find some stairs hidden by some trees. Go down these stairs and stand in the blue circle on the floor. DO NOT TOUCH THE TOMBS!! When you stand in the circle, the statue will speak to you and ask you what you want to sacrifice and what you want to keep.

I waited for your response, Val, honest! After 2 or 3 minutes I thought something must have happened to you and I'd better step in... Well, I tried...
