Do you like it?

I'll be objective in the question.

Its okay! But there is some thing i don't like, where is the search function? "J" isn't working. I have both Winamp 3 and 2.80, I will wait until there will be a nice skin for Winamp 3.

I'm told that F3 is the jump function.

Then don't vote... reserve your once-in-a-poll's-lifetime right! (Until you try it)

I am not a big fan of free form skins for MP3 players. They all seem to big, hard to use, and uhhhh, whats a good word.....superfluous is good enough I guess.

I'm more about functionality than eye candy, but a mix of both is good too.

Self does not listen to the illegal music, with or without WinAmp. But then again, as I am gainfully employed (and used to work at a radio station), I can afford to have scruples.

Who says you have to listen to illegal music if you use WinAmp, it can function as a cd player or you could just rip music off a cd. I'm just pointing out that everyone that uses winamp doesn't necesaraly listen to illegal music.

Me, I uhhh listen to uhhhh.....

If you check up the Q&A section, the sound quality of Winamp 3 is same with previous versions. Generally it's cosmetic changes only; true, we got video player, but hell, i got a better video & DVD player. I rather keep using my special sound enhancer plug-in with old Winamp 2.80. I'll wait future updates to see better version of Winamp 3, or wait until there is very good sound enhancer available for Winamp 3......

I just thought I'd check to see what version I have, since everyone is posting their versions.

I have, get ready for it, v 2.5e with a date of Oct 3 1999.
I think this might have been the first version that was free. I can't remember though.

@Xerox
Very true, why upgrade when it works to your liking.

Winamp 3 is decent. Not as much as I awaited from it (well, how much can you expect from a new version of a MP3 player but it does the job.

For skin d00dz it has the ability to have freeform skins, some of which I really like. But for general people, the update will pretty much cause problems only. ALMOST No plugins, no skins, no nothing. When starting up winamp3 for the first time, it takes ages when compared to Winamp2.x.

However, WA3 has a lot of potential to rise up as a good successor of WA2. So I am not disappointed. First steps always are hard

Winamp3 is like Windows XP: Let the patches come out, and then enjoy it..
