Non MMORPG RPGs

Anyone anticipating any really good non online, single player RPGs coming up?.

I'm back to running through Might and magic 6 to 8 and Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 again for about the 5th time each.
Where are all the good single player offline CRPGs?.

(I've got Morrowind & M&M 9. I didn't like NWN or Icewind Dale 2).

Did you pick up Wizardry8 yet? I'd say anyone that likes M&M will enjoy it tremendously.

I played a wizardry game on playstation 2 and it really sucked, that's why I don't want to play wizardry 8, cause it looks the same

There's usually a big difference between PC and console versions of games. As often as not the interface gets messed up in the transition.

Divine Divinity came out last year, I'd recommend that as well as Wizardry 8.

Then again, Wizardry may just not be his kind of game. I didn't like any of them even though I tried (with the exception of Nemesis, the Wizardry adventure, which I liked). It's all a matter of taste.

The PS2 Wizardry game had nothing in common with the PC titles except the franchise license. Sir-Tech agreed to let some Asian company do a game in the Wiz universe in exchange for cash back when they were trying to stay alive long enough to pick up a publisher for Wiz8.

Oh, now that's interesting, thank you for clearing that up!

My favorite Sir-Tech game was CyberMage.

As a long time M&M fan (except IX - what a dissapointment there), I agree. I never got the time to finish Wizardry8 (I moved to a different country and then got sucked into Morrowind, followed by Gothic, and now Divine Divinety).

Try it ... it is very good and involved. If you want to try a single character game I suggest DD. The character development system is GREAT and the writing is excellent.

I may try Divine Divinity then I reckon.

I'm anticipating a number of CRPGs but the only new ones on the near horizon are Mistmare (in around a week) and Pirates of the Carribean (June-ish). Lionheart in August and ToEE in September are the two I'm most looking forward to.

Aha, now Mistmare does look good doesn't it?. I think ToEE is going to be big, I hope it's as good as I hope it's going to be!. Lionheart really looks excellent.

Edited-

But then I looked at the forum on the Mistmare site, not so good feedback from players re almost everything.

Ah well I can live in hope for Baldurs Gate 3 or Might and Magic X.

Not sure whether I'd wish for MM10 or not. Given the POS they put in the MM9 box, it might be better to let the franchise die with what little dignity it has left.

@dte - MM9 never happened. Got it? It was just a bad dream. Someday the real MM9 will be released, it might be called mm10, but it is really #9 (cue beatles song here - it fits).
