Gothic 2 Review at HateKill

A review of Gothic 2 has been posted at HateKill. They find it "worth buying". Here's a part of their conclusion:

Overall I have spent many hours playing Gothic 2 and it has been ages since I have played an adventure/role playing game that has kept me interested like this. If you are into RPG games then this would be a good game to get, however some might find it too slow paced at times or a bit sloppy when compared to some games out there at the moment.

I prefer it to Morrowind just because I know what I am doing when I play, the game has a sense of direction. Gothic 2 does have lastability as well, I found myself replaying the game, only this time to play as a fire mage instead of a paladin. Due to the massive amount of quests on offer, and the different ones you get for being a different class, it’s a lot of fun.

I don’t think this game deserves to be called a Masterpiece simply due to all its shortcomings. The game is good, though I couldn’t help but feel that it could have been so much better. I also think the world could have been slightly bigger.

I don't think this guy would know a masterpiece if someone offered him the "Mona Lisa" for a buck.

Not to mention the guy can barely write. It's like reading a high school freshman's book report. He suffers from a bad case of "tell, and not show". For instance: "One of the strong of Gothic 2 is its level design. The forests are extremely well done." Well, okay, so they're well done--but why or HOW are they well done?

And then he thinks the sky looks "great too" (because ...?), although the stars "twinkle a bit too much". Is he being serious?
