RPGDot Feature: The Villager's Tale - An Interview

Although very early in development, 3D Kingdoms agreed to answer some questions on their ambitious indie title 'The Villager's Tale'. Here's a snip from the interview:
RPGDot: Can you give us a summary of The Villager's Tale and the gameplay it will offer?

Jonathan Kreuzer: I consider The Villager's Tale an action adventure RPG. The closest example to the type of game we're shooting for that I can think of is the old Quest for Glory series by Sierra, although we're also influenced by modern action RPGs.

The Villager's Tale is still at a relatively early stage in development, so some of the gameplay details may change. I'll give my best answers based on the current state of the game and future plans.
We also have two exclusive new screens (look for the first two) - read it all here.

Impresive screens for an indy game. I wish all the luck for them.

The game looks amazing, what engine are they using? The atmosphere really makes me want to jump in the game.

Can't wait to hear more about this, and I hope they manage to get some funding.

I believe it's their own engine. If you follow the links to their site, you'll see some blog-like articles on creating the editor and so on.

Another one to keep an eye on

The story so far has hooked me up. I would prefer it stays focused, down to earth (within the setting) and NOT include global threats and saviours of humanity. The answers in the interview, however, struck me somewhat unstructured and "cloudy". Hopefully it has nothing with the game itself.
