| Is it possible to join the monastery and then get kicked out |
|
I wanted to join the monastery only for the potion vendor and some additional quests but I'd rather be a paladin or mercenary. Is it possible to join the monastery and then get kicked out when I commit a crime? The recruiter says I will pay dearly for any crimes against members but he doesn't specify what the penalty is. |

You'll just have to pay a penalty in gold, I never heard of anyone get kicked out of the monastery. My advice: just load an old save game.  |

You're right Kranky,
Pablo indeed says you must renounce all your previous seedy ways of life, but the secret here is knowing how far you can go, he is referring to when you pass out as a firemage. As a novice of magic you can begin to learn the magicians ways of life, you can still be a thief and learn all thier skills, you can also get your melee and bow skills levels quite high, and all this can be done in the first chapter, before you speak to Lord Hagen (chapter 2) and still have the option of becoming a fully fledged mage or not.
So you see, it's a matter of how far you can stretch out that crucial first chapter
