The Column at The Old Monastery Ruins |
|
Ive actually allready finished Gothic I, but there was something that allways interested me. The column at the monastery ruins (Just above the area were you team up with Gorn to defeat the troll). I could never get to the other side high up on the cliff. I tried chopping it down, burning it down and a few other things, and no such luck. What exactly do you need to do to get to the other side to the chest? [/i] _________________ Scavengers...Thats what we call the Big Birds! |

I can't really tell you how to get to the other side with the column.
You CAN however knock it over by running against it BUT that only works from the opposite side (so the column falls to the wrong direction) |

You can't use the column to get across the gap. If you trained acrobatics you can jump across it, otherwise use cheats. |

There are many situations in Gothic that look impossible at first but later find so easy, the potion of speed will make you run fast and jump far, it will get you across the gap. Then you could always transform into a bloodfly, fly hard into the high cliffs to make you go upwards and along, then down, will also get you across the gap, then for all of you that do not know, (which i believe is almost everyone) something most unusual and weird will happen in that location if you play Gothic in a different manner, it's true because i have done it once. |

I always used a transform into lurker scroll and jumped across.
What are you hinting at Wulf.....I know the game well, but would love to find a "new" thing in it. PM me if needed. _________________ Chris: Dad, what's the blow-hole for?

Wulf may be hinting at the possibility of engaging in combat with something up top there. That is my guess though.

There is no doubt that some of the best Gothic players have been here on these forums during the hayday of Gothic (when it was at it's peak) and in a kind of sad way, while there are good guys still playing, in truth it has been fading to other games, that's the way it goes.
However, on another thread which i'm sure you will know well, there is a telling of a "strange encounter" a very rare situation, it is sad that almost everyone has missed this thing, yes, certain questions asked many times on these forums have not been answered correctly because no-one knows the truth, but after nearly four years we are coming closer to people finding out of these "happenings", so yes you guys are the first to know, - - this place you mention, is where you could learn something, and now my lips are sealed, until another day |

I guess Wulf is actually talking about the Stranger-Chromanin quest and thread. I just can't figure out the "different manner". _________________ http://kevan.org/brain.cgi?megadav!count |

@Drax,
"Very magical" !! can say no more (find the old man!)
@megadav,
Play it different - - (find the old man)
@Rordog,
Yes, combat!!! - - (find the old man)
@Uriziel,
As above - - (find the old man)
It is easy to drift off-topic because of the close relationship of gothic incidents,
so i think a very brief decription in the cromanin thread is needed. |
