This is a really old thread! I can remember answering a long time ago, and look, I can see some old faces at the first page of the thread!

i would have to say a mage archer or a mage swordsmen

the only bad thing about mages is that there is no magical meele weapon, there should be a way (expensive) to put a ruin on a ring so you can do a magic punch (not super strong) or perhaps a magic 1 handed sword? that would make the mage a nicer class, because with a mage just sucks at close range

Paladins and Mages are probably the most common Rpg classes. For those of you who like to be surprised adn to play smth really new I would suggest Dragon Hunter.

That will probably be the first class for me. Action, excitement, and unknown really make an RPG kick... Anyway, didn't you ever wanted to kick some dragon arse? To send those creatures of hell back from where they came...?

I imagine there will be much mistery and intrigue for a Dragon Hunter.

I'm not really sure, but I think I will play the first time as a paladin, mostly because the stupid skill raising system. If I am a paladin, I don't have any big need to raise my bow/crossbow skills. I really like the combination magic at range and swords/axes in close combat

I was a Paladin first time around and had a high crossbow skill, a high one-handed skill and enough mana to dish out a perfectly suited amount of devastation

Sorry, from what I hear, Uriziel will not be present in Gothic 2. A shame if you ask me.

I'll end up joining either the Paladins or the Dragon-Hunters. I'll wait till I play though before I end up deciding on a faction. I'll go with whichever one I like better, like I did the first time I played Gothic.(I chose the old camp)
