1- About the Druid: It's the best because summoning is like having a party.
2- What does an Endurance potion give you?
3- Why Barbarian? Isn't fighter better because he gets sooo much Feats?

1 - But when he sleeps to recover spells and gets attacked by three ogres, he has to fight alone. Not many safe areas in the game.

2 - +4 Con. Chug one of these and a potion of bull's strength and it leads into point 3.

3 - Because you don't need many feats to succeed in this game, and if you're going alone you'll find the Rage bonus of +4 strength, +4 con very, very handy.

Simply put... if you're only going to have one fighter/character, you might as well give that fighter the ability to drink a potion and rage up to a 30 strength by the end of the game. That's +15 to hit, +22 to damage JUST FROM STRENGTH ALONE. Add in a magical weapon and power attack and things die. A lot.

Fighter feats are built for endurance play... long time between rests. This is a good thing, but as a solo character you'll be resting quite often to regenerate your healing spells if nothing else.

Besides, the combat system in this game is best appreciated (IMO) with team tactics You don't have to use all 5-8 characters - perhaps 3-4 would make a good go of it. If you don't like parties, this may not be the right game for you.

Wanted to add on too that without playing with a party you would lose a lot that the turned based combat system has to offer you...which is one of the greater things about this game!
