The problem with prequels is you already know what will happen much later, so it's kind of pointless to make them.

Not that I wouldn't play a prequel if one was made...

Basically the game tells you all that anyway. Gomez was the leader of a large group of prisoners in the mines, and he took power in the Old Camp, with the help of the Fire Mages (listen to Xardas), after the guards were beaten.

The Magicians of Water left with some Old-Campers to form the New Camp and try to blow up the barrier.

Y'berion began having visions of the Sleeper, and he and his followers also left the Old Camp to make the Brotherhood.

If you listen to various characters in the game, the story is all pretty much spelled out.

Well I'm with Chyren. It's be fun to play out the events of the past from the perspective of Diego, Gorn or Milten.

I care MUCH more about Gothic 2 than some prequel. The colony and the barrier are old news, let's not live in the past.

And after all, you guys are probably just grasping at straws anyway. I highly doubt there will be any prequel to Gothic.

From what I've seen, only games that reach that rare level of "super-popularity" generate prequels; like the Resident Evil series, for instance.

I believe we're just expressing whimsical interest, not holding out any real hope!

I consider it a complement to the team that I'd be interested in a prequel. Most games don't hold that sort of interest for me.

Hehe, point well taken. I guess if I ever WERE going to be interested in knowing the past events behind a game, Gothic would be it.

Well, you can read all about Milten's story in the Gothic comic book (official, German, pre-game release).

Well Gothic has generated a mythical world on its own. And the outline is only skimmed through it leaves endless queries

No prequel in the colony would be any fun.

Now a prequel involving King Robar fighting the "foes of his realm" minus the orc problem would be.

What a remarkably absolute statement you've made! It must be delightful to be in posession of such cutting foresight that you can assess a theoretical situation with such amazing surity.
