Dying to make a pass

Hi All

Just a quickie today..

By now, most of you will know that I find it very hard to remember names of people, places and creatures. Unless I have the documetation right in front of me. So please forgive me if I have to name wrong here, but.....

I am just starting what you might call the third chapter of the story. I am ready to leave to chilly little town of ...d'oh!...er.... OMG it's cold and there's a statue ok? Dammit! GLACERN!!! that was it.

Anyway, I'm ready to leave there and looking at my quest record, I can see that so far at least, the quests seem to have a tendancy to be resolved during or soon after the chapter in which you recieve them.

So I am a bit worried about "Clearing the (name... heeeeelp) Glitterdelve Pass"? It's outstanding.. which is to say that I have not done it yet.. rather then "It's really good". So I was wondering if I should move on, or if I have to go back to do something I missed?

As always I throw myself on the kindness of the board and I wait with baited breath for your collective wisdom.

All the best

Badger.

It's been a while since I last played DS but I remember that I missed out on that quest as well. The only one I missed in the entire game actually.
I think you'll have to go back from Glacern. Missing the clearing of the Glitterdelve pass happens when you enter this one dungeon too quick. The path leads a bit further downhill where the entrance to the dungeon is located. I hope I recalled that correctly. No guarantees .

I think I recall that when you get the long way around the pass this quest is solved when you blow those big gates open and talk to the dwarf or something like that. I also haven't played for a while, so I can't specifically recall.

Hmmmmm, thanks guys. Blowing up a gate sounds hopefull.

There was a point when you cam to a gate that was blocked and had to take a long route around. When you eventually emerged at the other side, you see the gate again and it has a pile of rocks covering half of the door.

Now I'm sure I picked up some Black Powder from somewhere.....
Black Powder + Rocks + a long fuse = KaBoom.... Badger Like KaBoom!

Anyone else know if this sounds about right?

If I remember correctly there might be a handy barrel of TNT sitting handy right there. If you can't find a fuse or a flaming arrow, just put a flame shield on your dwarf and have him run up to the TNT, I can only imagine that might work, just be sure and wear goggles, dwarves have little bones-- they might poke you in the eye.

Thanks vaticide

I'll bear the TNT chest in mind for my next time through the game. But this time round I think I might give the quest a miss.

My change of heart has come about because last night I set about making my way back to that gate, from Glacern. As my party made its way back through the now creatureless frozen wastes toward the mine. I suddenly found myself thinking.. Hold on..where was that gate anyway? After I go all the way back through the mines, I think I also have to go back through another dungeon as well, before finally arriving back at that gate.

Well I'm not backtracking all that way! I should have been more observant the first time around. Time to move on I think.
