New Interview about G3, this time with Jowood |
|
The media-offensive now really started! Here's another interview with KaiRo and two very evil figures: the Brand and Community Manager of Jowood.
quote: Originally posted by World of Gothic
It's time again for one of the legendary interview as preparation of our cult RPG "Gothic".
This time, we choosed a partner that again and again is a victim of taunts and flame posts: the publisher. There are an uncountable amount of threads that blame the publisher for all sorts of things. They allegedly are responsible for bugs and for delays, they enslave the poor developers our of greed etc.
They muzzle the developers and are to blame for the catastrophic information policy, they create a pressure of time which result in a lack of a proper error checking. So why do our Gothic gods work with such a gloomy, greedy publisher?
You can find the (English) article here on World of Gothic
There's also a new short video, showing an orc model holding a scavenger, click here to download
And there will a special E3-trailer released this E3, hurray. I can't wait! _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."

"Of course there are certain losses that the publisher and the developers have to deal with, especially in the areas advertisement and marketing. We probably will have to do without movie trailers, ads in print medias, TV promotion ("the lotto numbers are presented by
Gothic 3") and similar things. Because of that, you, our fanatic communites are godsend. Still, I am able to undersign Stefan's statement that JoWood is doing anything possible to reach our high goals."
Do they not understand that that is one of the main reasons the Gothic series isn't well known/doesn't sell so great???
that's something every good publisher needs to do, get the game out there. Internet ad's, magazine ad's/interviews, gaming site interviews/previews, etc.
Can't wait for E3 though, to see that trailer they talk about . |

The translation is superficial. KaiRo says that neither publisher nor developer have the financial resources to make the game perfect and thus have to make certain concessions. Cinema commercials, etc. are impossible.
If they donīt have the money they canīt spend it. Itīs a chicken <-> egg problem. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

The news in this interview:
- Minimum hardware requirement: 512 MB, a decent CPU and a GeForce 3 (not GeForce 4 MX!) or equivalent graphics card.
-This time the performance will scale correctly. (G2 was heavily CPU-limited!)
- Germany will get a Collectorīs Edition. When and what this means remains to be seen. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

My GeForce4 Ti 4400 will work then?
As for ads, rabid fans have been known to fund newspaper and short tv spots through donations. |

Yes, your Geforce 4 will do. The Geforce 4 MX was based on the Geforce 2 and those cards won't be supported. Some parts of the Geforce 2 aren't capable of working with all those new features G3 has. _________________ "Who are we to call this planet Earth, when it's clearly Ocean."
