EQ: Lost Dungeon of Norrath Review @ Game Revolution
   

Game Revolution has <a href="http://www.game-revolution.com/games/pc/rpg/everquest_lost_dungeons_of_norrath.htm" target="_blank">reviewed</a> Sony Online's EverQuest expansion, Lost Dungeons of Norrath, awarding a score of 'B-':<blockquote><em>One good thing about the Lost Dungeons is that certain classes that were previously underappreciated are now in much greater demand, simply because it is hard to complete the adventures without them. No party is complete without a Warrior as a sturdy meat shield for the casters or a Cleric as a dedicated healer and resurrector, or an Enchanter to mesmerize monsters when a party has bitten off more than it can chew. simply not true for everyone. Lots of items have dropped for me and no one in the group wants it. We are definetly not twinked or have uber items.

Too much exp? nope. Much better and easier experience in PoP zones *** PoP is what caused this NOT LDoN! ***. I'll admit some of the lower level adventures give a lot of exp. but not many people nowadays (before ldon) are below 50.

huh? In LDoN all augments are no drop. all of the items that drop have extrodianary high recommened levels. Twinking has always been a problem well before LDoN. LDoN somewhat fixed this since you have to actually go through adventures with a group around your level before you can get augments.

I'm not sure what game he is playing, but it's not eq. Warrior's stink compared to Paladins or Shadowknights. (I play a bard so this is not class envy). Even Scott admitted this and they will be making changes to warriors soon. Clerics? Sorry but a 58 druid is just as good as a cleric. Even if someone dies they can always get a rez after the adventure is over.

Now if you want to rant about something, the big problem with LDoN is the difficulty between different types of adventures. If you get a slaughter mission (kill 50-60 mobs in dungeon), no matter who's in your group you will win. Get a low number collection mission? and you may have just enough time to finish. Get a rescue mission and unless you have all the dungeon maps, you're group better work well together.

This review is pretty bad. A lot of the complaints aren't about ldon, which is what this review should be about!

For me, as a regular everquest player, LDoN is a lot of fun. Sometimes repeatitive, but welcome to everquest. One thing is for sure, getting a full group together is a lot easier.

There's a name in EQ, of the 13 or so classes, 3 are called the 'golden trinity' or similar because they're so high in demand: warrior, cleric, enchanter. Now, it's true that SK and Paladin have gained ground and can be substituted for warrior, but nonetheless, the above stating that war/clr/enc were somehow underappreicated is amusing to most EQ players, I'd think.
