This article could be only refering to the German Gold edition (g2+Raven) release on march 3, 2004 http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/urltrurl?lp=de_en&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.de%2Fexec%2Fobidos%2FASIN%2FB00013YQQA%2Fworldofgothic-21%2F

Or maybe one for the English? We can not say. It needs to be clarified. The only thing being released I see so far is this German Gold Edition and that is it.

Well, if the price drops enough, at 35 EUR right now, buy it and use English subtitles? Oh Nooo!

They could make more moeny with a English Gothic Gold Edition. They said all the voice recordings were finished last September 2003 for Raven.

They will have to clarify this, I read the German site and it is not clear either. Just another addtion to the Gothic series....it could mean the German Gold Edition only, or maybe a English add-on they will sell as a stand alone version.

I would rather spend the extra money and get the whole stand alone version anyway Gold Edition all in one nice package and bug fixes -in English I hope.

If JW suggest that I have to buy the whole Gothic 2-game for the second time to get Night of the Raven it is to stupid.
And simlpy, I wont`t do it. I have bought the game once and that is enough.

In protest I will then have to get the addon the hard and illegal way. ( Hallo hubs)

I`ll hope this wont be an issue.

I concur, Bombadill. Not everyone has money aplenty, and if they refuse to publish the add-on as a single product, I will refuse to buy it. I'm dying to play NotR, but that's just unfair. I spent enough money on G2 as it is.

That's just askin' for people to resort to the 'illegal way'.

I think we should wait for a specific announcement/release date
at least before starting to debate prices and packaging.

At least these seem to be good news indeed
(Thats a novelty !)

We might have to swallow our rash predictions (yes please).

P.S
Damn I hope it gets out at least in mid april(personal reasons
will prevent me from laying hands on it for a whole year otherwise )

Of course. You're right, jo_nik. Still, I get frustrated in advance when considering the mere *possibility* that NotR might only be available in a Gold Edition with G2. Hrm.

I'd jump at Xerxes712's translation in that case.

edit: typo fixed

Well blacklight, a possible translation by xerxes712 has its own alure as I have
noted earlier (no below par voice acting).

But I doubt I could wait for the possibility of a translation if the G2 (english)
gold edition was within reach (yep I'd let ATARI/ Jowood sucker me into
that one ).

Besides to play with the translation for the addon you probably
would have to buy the German gold edition ! (english G2 + german addon
doesnt seem like a good idea).

Yes, that's correct. Neither are they working on a second add-on nor do they plan to do that in the future. And they're confirming that Gothic 3 is currently set for a release some time in 2005.

No iit does NOT say there is no English add-on. It only says that in a new letter today to help clear it up: using bablefish translater: worldofgothic.de:
-----------------------------------------

In the provisional annual report JoWooDs for 2003 was announced for 2004 a Gothic product which can be published.
In order to take to the bubbling rumors over possibly this year an appearing AddOn to Gothic II the food, the developers announced themselves on their Gothic ii-homepage to word and in a News got straight that they develop definitely no second AddOn for Gothic II.

Which exactly now the product announced by JoWooD for 2004 should be, it is not yet clear but it seems in such a way that however with it either the gold edition (release 3.Maerz) or release of the AddOns is meant "the night of the Rabens" in the English-language market.

The gold edition contains Gothic II and the AddOn "the night of the raben".
---------------------------

No second German addon, only a Gold Edition For German with G2 + Raven.

They art not sure what they meant by the release in 2004 for the Gothic series, either only just the German Gold Release or a English add-on release. Since this particular piece was also translated into English somewhere else, it could have been a misunderstanding of the orignal German report.

ASFAIK it could be both, or either way. If it is one then it probably meant only to refer to German Gothic Gold edition being the 'next derivative to be released for the Gothic series' and somehow is being confused as an add-on being released.

It is still unclear but getting more concrete on what it means.

PB is NOT going to publish second add-on/

Found this on PB website in German. It says they are not working on a second add-on for gothic 2.
------------------Babblefish:

As the rumors over a further AddOn to Gothic II, circulating since the publication of the JoWood of annual report for 2003, in the year Piranha byte explains 2004:

"we develop at present no second AddOn to Gothic II and do not intend also to change this."

Likewise evidently from the annual report the date for the completion of a further part (Gothic III) is - this reads in the year 2005 as also in the message communicated.

As soon as there is new to Gothic III, their it here will find as used!

-------------------------------------------

Thus JoWooD refers to a derivative to the Gothic series could meant either they are going to publish the English Raven add-on that has been dicarded by Atari (it was claimed the English version was already finished), or JoWooD was only speaking about the singular German Gold Edition being published.

Still could be either way, but it is more news. Today at 2-27-04

Sorry for the post to post back.

There are more possibilities. Who says a 2nd add-on has to be developed by PB?

JoWooD´s press release was not a game announcement. It was a summary of the yearly results and future plans. Such a thing has to be made public regularly by stock corporations.
What exactly they mean with a Gothic derivate to be released in 2004 remains a mistery. If they´re talking about another add-on, why did they separate it from the other add-ons for SpellForce, etc.? Strange.
