Both games have a lot to offer, just what they offer is different. I personally prefer the world of Gothic and Gothic 2. The world, while smaller, feels more 'alive'. The characters have personalities and I actually do dumb things (from a pure gaming perspective) because I care about some of the personalities. This did *not* happen in Morrowind.
When I finished playing MW I thought, "that was cool, I want to go back and try it again." I never did. When I finished Gothic 2 my thoughts were, "Wow that was cool, but I am glad I've got my life back. Wont play that again!", I am now about 20 hours into the second playing and loving it.
I can see the appeal of MW, and if I had more time I would mod the heck out of it and enjoy it, but too many other things that I care about in RL demand my time.
I am just glad that I have two such quality products installed on my machine, and have the choice of what to play!! _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

"Why thank you Pinnen, I learned everything I know from you", says Lintra as he returns the bow. _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

"Nay nay Lintra, the bow is yours. I don't even know how to handle one, so you better keep it. Who knows what kind of trouble we might run into?" _________________ CaptainWorshipperNonFlamer

Right, sorry. Lost track of threads again. Lucky I have a ranger with me in times like this. Granted a rather absent-minded one, but still a ranger. _________________ CaptainWorshipperNonFlamer

"Ranger? What ranger?" asks Lintra. Looking at the bow in his hand, , "Oh yeah, now I remember! That'd be me, wouldn't it then." Catching site of Val's glowering stare, "Hey Pinnen, isn't it about time to join the elves partying in the deep forest somewhere? I think its starting about now, and we wouldn't want to miss the party now would we?" Lintra slowly begins backing away into the trees, dragging Pinnen along with him. _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

*Val bonks Lintra and Pinnen over their heads with a Nerf baseball bat several times as she chases them into the woods.* _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

Recently i started to try finishing Morrowind again, but.... boooored, even talking to my boots would be more innovative, so i'd say Gothic 2. |

All of the above mentioned are good games. They all offer many different things, different challenges. I feel it ultimatly comes down to what type of gamer are you. |

The only joke is what is written above.
The water in Gothic 2 was terrible. Static, didn't reflect any light, didn't move, NOTHING. You couldn't even look down and try to see the bottom. NOT EVEN in the little ponds, and THAT is really bad.
The water in Morrowind reflected light, rippled when you walked through it, and was way clearer and better made.
Plus, when you dived into the water, your mouse DIDN'T suddenly, without any reason, become inversed, like in Gothic.
I would also like to say that the sky and weather effect in Morrowind BY FAR exceeded Gothic 2. The night sky in Morrowind was beautiful. In Gothic 2, it was just black with some huge white dots on it, and a small white moon.
You could see to the bottom of water features in G1, but not in G2?
G1 had shooting stars, clouds, the barrier, and varying brightness of stars, but not G2? Just huge DOTS huh? Interesting, better pull out the demo and see for myself..
It was nearly impossible to swim underwater in G1, though. _________________ "You two are a regular ol' Three Musketeers." |

I thought the sky was quite lovely in G2. Sort of Starry Night-like. _________________ -=Professional Secret Agent=-
