Do you accept same-sex marriage?

If you ever read recent newspapers or online news, you probably noticed about the debates on same-sex marriage issue in the US.

I have never experience "love" toward same-sex individual as in the "love" toward opposite sex. But i found no reasonable reasons why we should condemn and intolerance toward homosexuals. I'm aware of civil ethics, secular morality - or whatever you call it, but i'm not really a part of organized religions, so concepts like "sinful," and "unmoral" have no strong bearing on me. Homosexuality existed long time ago and in many different societies, either as part of kinky sex or part of real love. I expect systematic research will bring out better understanding on homosexuality and in time peoples will have more rational mind on the issue, or actually show that homosexuality is not "suitable" relationship (no more than an abberrance/irrational relationship).

I have no idea how a man could look at another man and like what he sees. I also have no idea how women look at men and like what they see. If I was a woman I would be a lesbian.

I think man on man gayness is gross and descusting and wierd, but I also believe in equal protection under the law. I strongly believe in same sex marraige and I strongly oppose Title VII, ADA, and all the other crap that have "protected groups" or "discriminated" groups. Equal is equal is equal. Their cannot be unequal groups that have equal protection under the law. The gays are not equal because the cannot legaly marry, a right that other groups have. Me not being in a protected group have less rights than members of protected groups.

Even though my mother was born in Africa, she is Sicilian and white looking so I cannot be an African American which is dumb. Stupid no logic laws. I wish all laws had to follow a logic and phallacy exam before being passed.

But anyway...they're here, they're queers, they're gross, but they're consunting adults living in a supposedly free country that has seperation of church and state. If morality and religion are the only reason to keep the queers from a legal document, then there are a lot of unmoral and unreligios freedoms I posses that should be taken from me.

Most guys are turning into gays anyway with their chest shaving, girly drink drinking, and other women activities. Men drink straight liquer or beer. That is it. If you are a staright man you have those two choices and no others. Unless you are wearing a tuxedo then you can occasionally drink a martini. Men only shave their faces and neck, that is it. No back, chest, leg, or arm shaving. Straight men do not do that. Straight men also don't wear tight clothing. That is my big thing against cowboys, they always wear super tight jeans; what a bunch of *** loving sick-o's. But if you go out to a bar or club you see a bunch of supposedly staright men drinking girl drinks with freshly shaved bodies in tight clothes. What would John Wayne say? Could you amagine Clint Eastwood drinking a girl drink? Shaving his chest? What the hell is going on? Why do men think its OK to cry? Its not. Men don't cry, we hold it in and break things.

That point of that is, most anti-gays are infact gay themselves or engage in female-like activity which makes them gay enough to fall closer to the gay end of the bell curve. I am pro-gay (anything to take competing fish out of the sea) and a macho man.

And being married I know how horrible it really is...and misery loves company. I'm going to lobby for no straight marraiges.

I cant even count how many times you contradicted yourself in that post. "Gay people are disgusting, sick freaks that defy the laws of nature! but I support them all the way! yah!"

Plus, men are not gross. Just because you cant see it doesnt mean we're gross.

Roqua I couldn't disagree more with you. A man can drink whatever he wants just like a woman can. I am positive I know women that can easilly drink you under the table.(my sister for one )
About the shaving thing: it's of the porn world not the gay world. (BTW, I'm not doing that. )
About the tight pants: Only good to crush your balls. I never wear any sort of tight pants.(even not for running I don't like it.) I fail to see the connection with gay people however, it's more of a ridiculous fashion thing for me.

I don't have anything against a 'legal binding' between gay people, but I will NEVER call it a marriage. That's the 'legal binding' between man and wife. As for now I don't think I have any gay friends, but I'm sure I will threath them the same way as all my friends. (That goes for collegues too.)

I firmly believe in the sanctity of marriage, and I'm not sure whether it should ever apply to a same-sex relationship. However, the main problem I have is that marriage by traditional definition is a legal union between man and wife. I wouldn't like to see the definition of "marriage" relaxed, and would prefer a new term coined to describe the situation.

I will make the point that I see no reason at all to disallow the recognition of the permanence of a same-sex relationship. I just don't think "marriage" is the right word for it.

Roqua, I mean no offence, but I personally think your ideas are naive and rather outdated - what someone drinks or how someone behaves has absolutely no connection to their sexual orientation. However, your opinion is certainly yours to give, and as an opinion it is no more or less important than anyone else's.

I have nothing against same sex marriages, which is called "partnership" in Sweden, but I'm not really pro-partnership either. But it have been accepted for some time here, the discussion is instead about homosexuals' right to adopt children, and I don't think I'm positive to that, due to the fact that children that are different in some way often have a hard growth.

Well it happens sometimes XX,XXXX,XX and other times
XX,XYXX,XY.
So why interuppting in their personal life give them some room.

By the way the highlight was from Roqua:
I have no idea how a man could look at another man and like what he sees. I also have no idea how women look at men and like what they see. If I was a woman I would be a lesbian.

I think the whole concept of marriage is pointless and outdated no matter you are gay or straight. In US you pay higher taxes too.

I have no problem with gays being together in a partnership. I have no problem with gays at all. As others have already said marriage is between men and women. The purpose of marriage is to bring up a family. If the sanctity of that institution is violated, where will we be? I mean, look at single parent families. They almost always have problems. Whether it is money or discipline or whatever. I'm not saying that all two parent families are paradise, but there is much more stability in a home with a mother AND a father. If by circumstance a gay with a partner ends up with children (say from a previous marriage) I'm not saying those children will be messed up, but what is the kid going to say when he's asked about his/her mother? Or, in the case of 2 lesbians, about the father?

Gosh, y'all know how to open up cans of worms

I disagree, I never contradicted myself. I think men being atracted to each other is disgusting. But I believe in their right as consenting "free" adults to do what they want, and to not be denied the rights that other "free" people have. I came up with a quote a while back that people credit to some other guy. "I may not believe in what you say, but i will die defending your right to say it." I do not understand how a man could look at another man and find something attractive, but also do not understand how women do it either. I'm glad the women do, but I do not understand it when women are obviosly the better, more beautiful, less stinky and disgusting choice.

And as for men not being disgusting I have only this to say: Are too.

Bartacus: I have a lesbian sister that can drink me under the table, beat me in arm wrestling, and beat me to a pulp. She has a mustache, 6 inches, and 100 pounds on me. I call her Smokin' Buch. She is probably more manly than I am, but she smells better and is less gassy.

A man can drink whatever he wants just like a woman can, he can also wear dresses and talk about emotions and pee sitting down and fight for his right to marry other men. I only watch lesbian or midget porno so I cannot deny the porno body shaving thesis. The connection with tight clothes and homosexuality is that mens body are disgusting and should be hidden under layers of baggy, well covering clothing, kind of like middle eastern women (they got it backwards).

cmfdobbie-"Roqua, I mean no offence, but I personally think your ideas are naive and rather outdated." Yes, I agree. I'm narrowly open-minded and stobornly tolerant. I believe in gay marraige but think straight men should be more manly. It makes sense if you think it through I think.

Val- I apologize. My post was as much to entertain as state my views. I think it is crazy that staright single guys do not like gay men when it is dirrectly to their benefit for more men to be gay. More gays, less competition. Plus gays are creating stereotypes that are great for straight men. Gay men dress swell, eat to be skinny, work out to be buff, like talking about dumb things like emotions and dressing, like shopping. I really think that in the future when you see a really buff guy you will think in your head, "He's really big, he must be gay". If you dress like crap, don't talk, don't shop, have a beer belly and can barly lift your own body weight and your girlfriend/wife complaines you can say, "you knew I wasn't gay when we met."

Living the manly stereotype is rough. Whiskey burns going down and is painful coming up. Suppresing all emotion but anger can't be good for my lifespan. Breaking things is a lot more expensive than crying. Being covered in hair like a wookie is annoying and uncomfortable. Fighting with my wife on straight rights topics like why I don't care about curtains and why I will never go shopping takes a lot of effert and a lot of my free time and is costly because of all the broken things. But I do it. Every day I'm out there in the trenches doing it. I sacrifice so much enjoyment and piece of mind for staright rights and the macho movement. And I don't do it for me. Like all Hereos I self-sacrifice for others. I especially do it for the children. The poor, defensles male children that might have to grow up in world where men wear sandals, cry, drink foo-foo drinks, go curtain and clothes shopping, know more than 6 names of colors, shave their legs, and wear spandex; all while claiming to still like women and actively taking women of the market.

You should all thank me and give me a medal. I'm carrying the torch of manhood and I'm a self sacrificing Hero. Its a thankless and painful job, but I do it for the children. I do accept money contributions for the cause.

I really don't see why silly ol' conservatism should hinder the evolving of language as society evolves. To me, 'marriage' is just a word. If people want an official title/ritual name for their time of living together, why not let them?

Although, I don't think gay couples/families should get the same benefits as ordinary families who actually help the advancement of society with reproduction. As for gays adopting; it's better than many other alternatives orphans may expect, then again, it could be bad for the child's social evolvement.

@Roqua: I know, but some people don't have a sense of humor when it comes to things they really believe in.

Btw, here's your metal:

I was going to put "Hear me burp!" on there, but I ran out of room.

That's a good one, Val. If you can figure out a way to squeeze in "Pull my finger", I think you need to go into mass production.
