I have a bard from Wiz 7, whom I have found very useful. But I have not spent many points on her communication skill. What exactly does that skill do, and how necessary is it?

Don't worry about it. Best I could tell, communication gained you two things: better prices for buy/sell, and better reaction from NPCs. You will increase the skill with every person you talk to, so it will go up pretty well on its own.

As was said, communication is primarily useful to get you better prices when you buy and sell stuff.

Never bother with it! If you have an alchemist/ninja/bishop/ranger then you'll be rolling in the dough by mixing and selling potions.

One trick:

Carry two blarneystone amulets in your party inventory. Put them on your character with the highest communication skill right before trading. Instantly prices become more favorable to you. Then cast remove curse when your done trading. Pretty easy money.

Very nice tip Fwang Thunk. And it is not spoiler, so can you write it also into sticky "hints, hints, hints" topic?
Or I will do it later, when I return to my better connection in school.

Yes, communications is not very important. I spent not a single point on it. But it encrease everytime you speak with somebody. I did not experienced problems with communacation with NPC or RPC also when I had very low communication skill.
If I should say truth, I did not think that this skill is good for something .

Yeah, you're right, it wasn't a spoiler. I think I intended to give more away, but never got around to it.

I have a thousand tips that I've learned playing several different parties. The game is just too damn addicting!!!

You always want to see what it would be like to play with just one more bishop, or with only hybrids, etc. I've never solo-ed yet. Hopefully the addiction runs its course before I get to that!

Communication skill is virtually useless. The reduction on cost of items (ill use spellbooks for instance is neglible). A spellbooks you want will cost you 3500gold to buy with 0 comm. skill. This same book at 100comm. skill will save you less than 1000gold. This is the case for all spellbooks & most items.

The increase when you try to sell items & i will use the Renewal Potion as most know the average prices for these as an example: Braffit will buy them with 0comm. skill for about 4900gold. With 100comm. skill he will give you 5000gold. This is the case for most items you try to sell also.

I was afraid that if you didn't have high communication, certain NPCs might not talk to you or offer you quests and stuff, but that is not the case? (Right now Myles has highest comm skill in my party with like 23.)

Psyborg:

Only thing you need to do to get quests is to do several things.

A) Talk to a specific NPC.

b) Say the right Keyword/s to a specific NPC.

c) Complete a previous quest then speak to a specific NPC to automatically be given your next quest if that npc has another quest for you.
