This is my opinion:
First you have to buy the game thats about 50 dollars?
Second you have to pay about 10 dollars per month to play the game.
Third some people cant even pay this amount of money per month.

If you ask me i think this is lunatic, I can pay this amount of money but im not going to.
I think you all want to know why?
Well because i visited the Blizzard website.
There so greedy that you need one of there CDKey to register, otherwise you cant register.
Conclusion you have to buy one of there pitiful games to register.
Now back to the paying thing.
I think adding new stuff in the World Of Warcraft game has to go with free will and pleasure, not to be forced to add new stuff and get cash for it.

You [two] clearly don't realize how much it costs to run a good MMORPG. You should do some research and make an effort to educate yourselves before posting your comments. Blizzard is far from "greedy." You're only making yourelves sound ignorant. I'm telling you this in a constructive way rather than a critical way. What you do with this advice... well, is up to you!

Any other MMORPG makes you pay monthly fees. They have to hire a full time staff to support the game, pay for servers, and I'd guess a thousand other little costs. Usually that monthly payment is worth every penny, and this looks like one of those cases.

I really hope it doesn't turn into a Levelquest, if Blizzard can take the repetitiveness out of MMORPGs, I'll build monuments to them.

Wouldn't StarCraft have made a good MMORPG?
(Remembers Earth and Beyond and Anarchy Online)
Nevermind.

Guilds - Long-term associations of online gamers. Guilds are often formal, game-specific organizations supported by the game's mechanics, but the term also extends to informal associations of players across games. Also known as clans, allegiances, squadrons, and so on. - Developing Online Games

"A guild for an MMORPG is the unification of a family of individuals who share the same passions and role-playing ideals that you possess." - Me

Actually, for some of you misinformed people, and some of you being under-informed as well, the subscription money pays for:

-- servers (humungously expensive machines; the best available)
-- bandwidth (still isnt cheap; imagine 100,000 clients at once)
-- customer support (these guys get paid to help players with problems)
-- debugging (the game constantly needs programmers to debug code)
-- ongoing development (these games need continuous content addition)
-- expansion packs (indirectly; the more money they make, the better the goods)
-- office stuff (all the various expenses for running a large office)
-- lawyers (you know they can be expensive!)

My main justification for paying subscriptions is the ongoing development. I think its awesome that they have programmers, artists, and designers continually adding things into the game, after launch. Not just patches, but actual content additions. I wish they could do this with Morrowind, i would pay for that!

oh and almost forgot:

-- official website (these can be large endeavors, usually)
-- hardware maintenance and monitoring (by rare and costly specialists)
-- the office building (renting or buying the building where everything is at)

The following is a big info-bomb. While I have tried not to spoil a lot of the cool surprises beta testers will discover in play, I wanted to give what I felt was a full overview of the game as it currently stands.

I honestly don't understand how blizzard could be percieved as greedy. I've seen several people post saying how greedy blizzard is and its starting to irritate me. But on the brighter side World of warcraft is going to be one hell of a good game. Oh and by the way please visit my clan posts to sign up for one of the best clans there will be in world of warcraft.

no they are not gready , they create the best games around ( except Gothic series ) best quality , patches everything
and what bussines do you have in there forums if you dont have any of there game right ?
and i think that 50 $ per game and 10$/month it is cheap for what they will do ( add quests evey weak , monsters , new areas , etc. ) the quality of the game i think it is worth it i will going to pay because WoW will going to be the best game ever
PS : this is the frist MMORPG that i will buy and when i ordered my copy of WoW i did not even now what is about but i new that it was made by Blizzard and that says everything
