| Gothic 2 addon won't install |
|
Hey guys, i have a major porblem that stops me from playing the addon. Here i go.
I bought the Addon, tried to install it, I found out that i needed german version of gothic2.exe. So i searched around the forums, and found out how to trick gothic2 addon. So i followed instructions to doing that. I got it all right.
Then i tried to install the addon again, everything goes ok, 'till the point where it installs the game. Error massage pops up in german saying..." plz insert the original gothic2 Dndr cd". But i have it in my cd/dvd drive. I am so dissapointed, the game wont even install 
Did anyone experiance the same problem? If so did you get over it and how?
Can you help me plz?

Upgrade your CD/DVD drive.There's must be the problem.

Try installing it off a virtual drive. Create a backup image of the cd with something like Alcohol 120%(it is the best , and installs a virtual drive also), mount the image on the virtual drive and try the install.

For some reason the copy protection doesn´t recognize the original CD. This can have various reasons. There are many threads about this probem.
You could first try to install on another PC. This gives you an idea where the problem is.

Can't really help you but...
I had the same problem, but when the message popped up and I pushed cancel-button the installation continued normally. Everything has worked fine since then. |
