Merry Christmas (?)

So, 6 weeks to go till xmas.....

Has anyone got any info on which games of any interest will actually make it by then..??

It appears that any games of real note are due middle of next year.

Is it to be another dissapointing yuletide...I wish I liked FPS games a lot more. Spoilt for choice there.

Regards, (sigh), Hexmaster.

Half Life 2... not a great one for you, I guess, Hexmaster - but at least there'll be some Source Engine-based games to follow, and at least two will be RPGs I think (Arx Fatalis 2 and the next Vampire: The Masquerade game). If it's used properly, the great-looking facial animation should make for some engaging NPC interactions.

I'm really looking forward to HL2 itself, I'm not a huge FPS fan either but I like pretty much any game with high standards of design and writing - the first had it in spades and it looks like they've put their energies in the right places for the sequel. I just hope it actually comes out this time! Apart from that... can't really think of much. I'm hopeful for Call Of Cthulhu and a game by the guys who made Unreal (I think) called Pariah, but I'm pretty sure they aren't out til next year.

Also Arx 2, and Irrational's spiritual sequel to System Shock 2 (I forget the name) and a couple of fantastic-looking console games: Ico 2 (the first was one of the best games I've ever played of any genre/platform, a fine example of design, art and storytelling) and Okami (hope it plays as good as it looks). I also heard a while back that a Shadowrun game is in development, can't remember what platform and I have absolutely no idea what it's going to be like, but I hope it's good. But none of these will be out this year.
