Hello all. This is the email I sent to support. I have not had a reply yet, so I thought maybe someone in the forums might have a solution to my problem.
***Hello, I am currently having problems running Gothic.
I am running version 1.08j
After installing the game, I am able to play for hours upon hours just fine. No problems at all. Then I shut my computer off, go to sleep. The next day after work, I turn my computer on and load up Gothic. After I get into the game world, just 10 seconds later the game freezes and stops responding. I have to ctrl-alt-del out of it. I reboot my computer, same results. I close every open application, same results.
So, then I reinstall it. Then it works fine. So I play for a few hours, shut off the computer and go to bed. The next night I try playing it again, it happens again. The game freezes after 10 seconds. This time I try disabling sound. Still freezes. I try playing in a window. Still freezes. I try to change resolutions. Doesn't help, it still freezes up. I try loading different saves or starting a new game. But nothing seems to help.
I have an Intel Celeron 700 mhz.
NVidia GeForce 2 MX 32MB
Sound card is Live Theater 5.1 SC3000L PCI Sound Card(CMI8738 chip)
320MB RAM
Windows ME
Detonator XP Driver version 23.11
Windows is managing my virtual memory.
There is no error message. The game just freezes up and stops responding.
From what I've played, this game looks to be one of the best games I've ever played. I really want to continue to play it. Please help me resolve this problem. Thank you so much.

Really strange. Your system looks healthy, you shouldn´t have problems.
Is it possible not to shut down the pc when you go to bed? |

No, I'm afraid that wouldn't really be an option for me
Anyone else have an ideas? |
