I was wondering..some things I just cannot identify. None of my characters have the spell so I stock up on scrolls. First of all, does the character's magic ability matter when casting the scroll? Secondly, I give it to my mage and she often says, "impossible" and the spell didn't fizzle. I jsut can't identify certain things. Any idea what's down?

When casting 'identify object' I think the more powerful the item is, the more power has to be behind the spell. Like some less powerful and medium powered items can be identified with a scroll. But the high powered items need to be identified with the spell at full power. Just my 2 cents. |

One thing you can do to rid yourself of the need for identify scrolls, is look in the tables in the back of the manual.
It says that Id item is a 2nd level Priest, Psionic spell from the Mental realm, if you have a priest or psionic, start putting points into the Mental realm.
Development of the 'Senses' attribute should help you get this spell too. |
