| Ok, Ok, how did people get the code book? |

I still haven't gotten the code book.
I have flattered, taunted and threatened. I have tried bribing and force. When I attacked her everyone in the inn attacked my and I had to kill them all.
I took the book and decided to just pay the fine and move on but the guards said I was sentenced to death, attacked me and gave me no opportunity to pay my way out.
So how did other people do this?

I tried pickpocketing, but with my uber stelath skill of 6 I just got a torch and of course was found out. So I wasted a perfectly good bottle of Telvanni Bug Musk on the ugly wench! But she was at least listening to reason afterwards,and gave me the book.

i just bribed her and she gave me the book no problem...the disposition was like 90+ though

If you belong to the thief guild she will not give you the book voluntarily no matter how much you bribe, etc. So you'll have to take it from her. I didn't want to kill her so I used an invisibility scroll, climbed up on the table behind her, went into sneak mode and pickpocketed the book. She caught me so I ran upstairs and dodged her. She's probably still up there looking for me.
Unfortunately it cost me a 25 bounty and 1000 amends to the guild.
If you fail in the attempt she'll still attack you. Kill her or knock her out. Either way you get the book. |
